Studying Abroad - A Life changing Experience

In life we all have something that has changed the way we perceive things, mostly they are experiences that one has gone through and learned from. There are many experiences that shaped me into the person I am now. But sometimes one single experience and initiative can change your life. The initiative to study abroad after marriage changed my life completely which led to a second master degree. I always wanted to make my career in the field of product management dealing with innovating, planning, forecasting and marketing a product and therefore I decided to pursue MA in International Product and Service management (IPM) from Ansbach university of Applied Science, Germany.

It was the day before Christmas when I received an email from the university stating that I have been admitted to the Masters Programme IPM. Words couldn’t express how happy I was. Preparing for studying abroad was really challenging. But on the other hand it was an exhilarating (thrilling), scary, fun and life changing experience. The feeling of contentment after you land at the airport of some country which you have been googling pictures for the past 6 months is incredible. There are many reasons to love germany, for me it was my husband, alps, skiing, the scenic beauty, chocolate, cheese, bread..etc

I met people from around the globe with different lifestyle and lives far different from my own and tried to discover what we had in common. In the weeks that followed, I would never have thought that walking into a grocery store could actually be confusing or difficult. Simple everyday tasks turn into challenges when you are in a new country and overcoming them is something you can’t prepare for. Studying abroad helped me to learn a new language, learn about history and culture and more over the experience which taught me a lot of life skills. This is the beauty of studying abroad: everything is new and different from what you are used to which forces you to learn and grow more than you even anticipate.

Travelling to Europe was an eye-opening adventure that every student should experience .It helped me shape my own destiny and taking my future in my own hands. It was an experience that no one could ever fully prepare themselves for and I am so glad that I did it. I grew as a person with love of my life and opened my eyes to numerous opportunities I could never have dreamed of before. It is definitely the most valuable and cherished experience of my life.
